Assessment Process
First, we send a Pre-Audit Checklist so that you can prepare what you have already for our Compliance Consultant. The Compliance Consultant spends 1-2 days reviewing each component of your operation as a business; auditing files, making observations and notes, and reviewing your procedures.
Following the audit, our Compliance Consultants provide you with a detailed report of the violations uncovered and are aligned with the seven BASICs outlined by Comprehensive Safety Analysis (CSA 2010). We are as thorough as (if not more thorough than) DOT investigators - our president and Senior Safety Consultant, Mike England, is an ex-DOT auditor AND has many years experience in the transportation industry. The bottom line is, he 'knows both sides of the coin'.
In addition to the list of violations, we also develop a much more 'user-friendly' work plan that can be used to resolve safety issues. It is an actionable report called your 'Roadmap to Compliance'. Just like any good map, this document is loaded with organized information and 'route suggestions' to kick-start the actions and plans your company should implement to make a safer, more compliant workplace. This "Road to Compliance" report will help organize and prioritize the work load so that major violations are corrected immediately and minor, less-serious issues are fixed over time.
FMCSA Assesments Include:
-Review of Driver Files
-Review of DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program
-Review of Vehicle Maintenance Files
-Review of 'Out of Service' Orders
